Jordan dispatches 25-truck relief convoy to Lebanon

AMMAN, May 21 (Xinhua) -- The Jordan Hashemite Charity Organisation (JHCO) on Thursday dispatched a 25-truck humanitarian relief convoy to Lebanon to help mitigate the country's worsening humanitarian conditions.

According to the JHCO, the shipment was coordinated by Jordan's Foreign Ministry, Armed Forces, and the United Nations World Food Programme to deliver essential supplies, including infant formula and medicine.

The assistance aims to support Lebanon's healthcare sector, enhance local food security, and meet the pressing needs of children amid mounting economic and social challenges.

JHCO Secretary General Hussein Shibli said the sustained dispatch of relief convoys to Lebanon reflects Jordan's steadfast commitment to its humanitarian mission.

The JHCO also expressed its appreciation to the Syrian authorities for facilitating the smooth and efficient transit of the humanitarian convoy across the border into Lebanon.
