TEHRAN (Tasnim) The secretary of Irans Supreme National Security Council stressed that Tehran will stand by the Lebanese people in every situation.

The top Iranian security official arrived in Beirut on Wednesday morning after a visit to Iraq.

Speaking to reporters, Larijani said Iran and Lebanon have rich civilizations and have maintained close relations throughout the centuries.

Highlighting the cultural bonds and rapport between the two nations, he said, If the Lebanese nation is in pain one day, we will feel that pain in Iran as well. We will stand by the dear people of Lebanon under all circumstances.

Expressing gratitude to Speaker of the Parliament of Lebanon Nabih Berri for making arrangements for the visit, Larijani said he is going to hold meetings with Lebanons president, prime minister, and other politicians during his stay in Beirut.
