President Aoun's visit to UAE reflects deep fraternal relations between two nations: Lebanon's Ambassador

ABU DHABI, 1st May, 2025 (WAM) -- Fouad Chehab Dandan, Ambassador of Lebanon to the UAE, said that the visit of Lebanon's President Joseph Aoun to the UAE reflects the deep-rooted fraternal relations between the two countries and highlights a shared commitment to strengthening bilateral ties and enhancing cooperation across all fields.

On the occasion of the conclusion of President Aoun's working visit to the UAE, during which he met with President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ambassador Dandan stated that a joint communique issued following the visit reflected the depth of the fraternal bonds and the strength of the historical relations between the two nations. These relations are characterised by cooperation in support of joint Arab action and the UAE's continued support for Lebanon's stability, national unity, and territorial integrity amid the challenges it faces.

He noted Lebanon's appreciation for the UAE's unwavering support during times of crisis, including assistance across various sectors. A key outcome of the visit was an agreement to benefit from the UAE's experience in enhancing government performance and institutional excellence. As part of this, a delegation from the Government Experience Exchange Office of the Ministry of Cabinet Affairs will visit Beirut to help implement this initiative.

One of the most significant outcomes of the visit was the decision to lift the travel ban on Emirati citizens travelling to Lebanon, which had been in place for several years. The ban will be lifted within a matter of days, following the completion of logistical and technical arrangements, an act that reflects the political will behind this decision.

The Ambassador added that both sides share aspirations to elevate diplomatic representation and have agreed to establish a joint Emirati-Lebanese Business Council. Additionally, the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development will dispatch a delegation to Beirut to explore and assess potential joint development projects.
