BEIRUT, Nov. 30 (Xinhua) -- Lebanon's Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned on Monday the assassination of Iran's top nuclear scientist Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, calling upon all parties to avoid any escalations that would plunge the region into a worse scenario.

The ministry said that killings and assassinations fuel conflicts and ruin stability, while these crimes are unacceptable and they are condemned by international laws and conventions.

The ministry extended its deepest condolences to Iranian government and people, especially the families of the victims.

Fakhrizadeh was killed on Nov. 27 in an attack on his car by gunmen in the town of Absard, east of the capital Tehran.
